Real Estate in Clarendon – Arlington, VA

Clarendon, Virginia is located in the heart of Arlington just two miles from Washington, DC and is home to many single and newly married twenty and thirty year olds. Clarendon’s major appeal is centered on its town center, The Market Common, and nightlife. The buildings in Clarendon are new, which offers a clean and current feel, while older charm is found in neighborhoods nestled off Clarendon Blvd. For me, fall has not arrived until I travel the wide sidewalks of The Market Common Clarendon with a hot apple cider in hand while admiring the seasonal window displays of Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn.

Shopping

Clarendon offers great essentials like Whole Foods Market, but there is so much more. The Market Common Clarendon is a destination in itself. With a fenced-in playground anchoring the shops, it is an enjoyable place for adults and moms with little ones. Kinder Haus Toys is a family-owned children’s store which is a clever spot for a unique gift. Barnes and Noble offers a free story time, and the outside water feature is a meeting point for adults and kids, alike. Make sure to bring a penny and make a wish!

Dining

Associated with The Market Common are popular choices such as The Cheesecake Factory, Baja Fresh and La Tasca. A street or two away are Clarendon residents’ favorites such as El Pollo Rico, Delhi Club, and Faccia Luna. And for a night out or some bar food, check out Whitlow’s on Wilson. It isn’t new and it isn’t classy, but it is a landmark (sort of) and is a ton of fun!

Entertainment

Clarendon is booming with young professionals who work hard and play hard.  Here are some of the places they find some much-needed “play” time.

  • Clarendon Ballroom is known for its live music and roof top bar. It has been a Clarendon residents’ favorite for decades.
  • Mister Days, which was voted best sports bar in Northern Virginia, is a great spot to watch your favorite game. It is also home to free Thursday Night Trivia when football is in its off season.
  • Ri Ra offers great Irish pub food and turns into a nightlife hot spot in the evenings.
  • Iota Club & Cafe offers entertainment almost nightly including open mic night, a poetry series and live music.
