Real Estate in Courthouse – Arlington, VA

Courthouse is a small neighborhood in Arlington, Virginia and home to the Arlington Court House, Orange Line Metro stop, and young professionals.  Residents of Courthouse will tell you that what attracted them to the area was the neighborhood feeling with tree-lined streets while being conveniently located just two Metro stops from Washington, D.C. and 1.5 miles from the Key Bridge, the gateway to Georgetown.  Like many of Arlington’s neighborhoods, identifying the actual geographical boundaries to a neighborhood is a challenge.  According to Arlington County’s Courthouse Sector Plan, “Courthouse includes the area bounded by Wilson Boulevard, Cleveland Street, Fairfax Drive, Arlington Boulevard and Courthouse Road”.  Courthouse is a charming neighborhood for those looking to be close to the city, but outside the city limits.

There is no shortage of dining in Courthouse.  The Corner Bakery, Cosi, and Greenberry’s Coffee are neighborhood favorites for a cup of coffee or quick lunch.  The Brooklyn Bagel Bakery is the neighborhood bagel shop offering residents New York style bagels and a mean tuna melt!

Summers Restaurant is a favorite for NASCAR and soccer fans.  College football enthusiasts can be found at Ragtime on Saturday afternoons, which has made it a Courthouse landmark.  For those less interested in sports, and more interested in what is being served at the bar, Ireland’s Four Courts offers the Dublin pub experience, and is a popular happy hour location.

Courthouse is also home to the best steaks in the commonwealth.  Ray’s the Steaks is a no-frills restaurant which requires a reservation, unless you are willing to wait until the following day to be seated.  The food is just that good.  Ray’s: To the Third is the place to go for a tasty burger.

The Courthouse neighborhood isn’t known for its shopping, but just a metro ride or short walk away, Clarendon and Ballston have plenty.

Clarendon offers great essentials like Whole Foods Market, but there is so much more. The Market Common Clarendon is a destination in itself. With a fenced-in playground anchoring the shops, it is an enjoyable place for adults and moms with little ones. Kinder Haus Toys is a family-owned children’s store which is a clever spot for a unique gift. Barnes and Noble offers a free story time, and the outside water feature is a meeting point for adults and kids, alike. Make sure to bring a penny and make a wish!

Ballston Common Mall includes over 100 retail shops, restaurants and specialty food stores.  The mall website is a good place to search for local events.
